The client saw a need for accommodation In Gundaroo for the niche market of weddings, peaceful weekends or celebrations. Having purchased the 1840m2 land with an existing historic listed heritage cottage and a supermarket on the site next door, the aim was to include 5 newly built self-contained villas and an Admin Building to complement them. The admin building is where guests can check in and has a well sized retail area included. The Honeymoon Suite, 2 ground floor duplex and 2 loft duplexes are also included. One of the Duplexes has also been designed as an accessible unit and signed off by the DDA. In addition to the buildings, we had to design an Economax Environmental wastewater system on site. Rainwater tanks were also included for each.
The external finishes all represent the local area. Zincalume mini orb, sandstone, timber windows, weatherboard, timber fretwork and painted FC cladding. The 5 new Villas are generous in size, self-contained and each comprise a lovely open living. They have tall ceilings, wood fire heaters and have been furnished in old style furniture to give them the charm. The honeymoon suite has a bath that opens up to the living area so you can be together with your other. The duplexes have a full length verandah to the front and the Loft Duplexes have the main bed in the loft looking down on the living area. A well manicured landscape finishes off the bush feel.
